- Peter Weiss, Managing Director and founder of Maylan Engineering Ltd has retired. His son Stephen Weiss has taken over the business henceforth.
- The new business is now called Maylan Ltd but will still be known as Maylan Engineering.
- As part of the re-structuring as of October 2011 Maylan moved from it's previous location at Crucible Road to Darwin Court, off Trevithick Road.
- The new factory is modern and efficient with a better environment to work in.
- The maylan philosophy of investing in new plant and people has been carried on by Stephen, with investment in a new Mazak 200M; and the appointment of Kevin Dawson as Sales Manager.
As part of our continual improvement policy, key members of staff have undertaken an NVQ level 2 Business Improvement Techniques. This has helped us to improve in many areas, particularly scheduling and downtime, meaning we are able to offer a more efficient and cost productive service. With the emphasis now placed on lean manufacturing, we are achieving a high level of right first time and meeting our JIT demands alongside our Kanban commitments. Our key personel are on hand to assist at all stages of design and production.
